Year 2 September 2020

Laurel Class

We can’t wait to welcome you into our class in September. We’re going to be doing lots to our classroom over the next couple of months to make it a brilliant place for you to learn in. You will have 2 teachers teaching you next year; Miss Johnson will teach you Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and Mrs Meade will teach you on Thursdays and Fridays. You will also have Mrs Lee with you who will be helping you with your teaching and learning everyday. We’re going to start September with lots of activities to get you used to being back in school and in Year 2 with your new teachers and then we’ll start exploring Space as our first topic!

If you have any questions or worries please do get in touch with us. We’re so excited to see you all in September!

Miss Johnson

Hi Everyone! I’m so excited about working with you next year to explore lots of amazing topics. I have been teaching at the junior school so some of you might recognise my face. I have two children; Reuben who’s 5 and Olivia who’s 2. I love being on the beach and swimming in the sea, I play lots of netball and absolutely love reading. I can’t wait to find out all about you and your favourite things!

Mrs Meade

Hi Everyone! Welcome to Year 2. I really look forward to meeting you and getting to know you all. I love art, history, traveling, baking and making things as well as going to music festivals and gigs with my grown up children. I really look forward to seeing you soon!

Sycamore Class

We are really looking forward to seeing you in September. We will be a brand new team in Sycamore class.

Mrs Bagnall will be teaching you on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, Mrs. Palmer will teach on Thursdays and Fridays. Mrs Parkerson will be helping you every day. We will also have Mrs Forde and Miss Loughborough working with us.

All the teachers are busy planning and sorting out the year 2 classrooms for September. We will have different areas to explore, such as topic corner, a chill out book zone, making and creating station or even an outdoor investigation area.

As a lot of people have been away from school for such a long time, we will start Year 2 with lots of fun activities just to get to know each other and to get used to being at school again. One of our first Topics in year 2 will be about Space, so if you want to you could find some great space facts over the summer holidays to share with us in September.

We are really excited about going back to school and can’t wait to meet you all.

In the meantime, take care and have a fabulous summer. Lots of love from the Sycamore team

Here are some photos and a bit of information about us.

Mrs Bagnall

I have been teaching at Colman Infants for 15 years. I love nature walks with my family and my Golden Retriever called Pippa. I also like gardening, baking, reading and chatting to people.

Mrs Palmer

Hi everyone! Just like you, I’m going to be brand new to Year Two. I have been a teacher for a long time at a different school, but have been at home the last year looking after my new baby. I love baking, making things and reading funny books. I’m looking forward to meeting you all in Sycamore Class.

Mrs Parkerson

Hello Sycamore class, my name is Mrs Parkerson. Some of you may know me from your time in year 1.

I have two grown up children who also came to Colman infant school. I hope you're going to enjoy year two as much as they did. See you all in September.

Mrs Forde

Hello my name is Mrs Forde.  Some of you may have seen me when I popped into Maple class. I like sitting in my garden and playing with my two cats called Tabby and Little Black Cat. I also really like searching for frogs in my garden. Have you watched Mrs Forde’s tadpoles on the school website?

Miss Loughborough

I like curling up on the sofa with a good film, having dinner and playing games with my friends. I also enjoy going for walks with my boyfriend and sewing, especially patchwork and quilts. I enjoyed being in Maple class last year and can’t wait to be in your class again this year.
