Mr Sinclair teaches Maths and Deaf Studies at Colman. He led our assembly at the start of this special week.
He talked about his experience of being born Deaf and growing up in a hearing family with his Deaf brother.
He explained to us that if you want to gain attention from a Deaf person, then you can tap them gently on the arm and that’s part of ‘Deaf culture’.
He also challenged us to learn 5 signs about being a good friend. Choose from: sorry, forgive, kind, funny, reliable, genuine, honest and ‘good listener’.
Next time you see Mr Sinclair make sure you sign ‘Good morning’ or ‘Good afternoon’ to him!
