Our Cress Seed Experiment!

In Year 2 we planted some cress seeds to see how well they would grow BUT we made sure each set had certain conditions. One had perfect conditions, one had no warmth, one had no light, one had no soil and one had no water. Look at our results!

Year 1 Family Learning-summer

This term, our family learning session focused on Maths. After a short introduction where the children showed off their skills in counting in multiples of 2s, 5s and 10s, they joined their grown-ups and demonstrated how to use a number line to add 2 single digit numbers together. They then worked with their grown up to decorate a blank 100 square to create their own snakes and ladders game. Each team had 2 dice to roll, adding the amounts together (with help from the number line) to work out how many spaces to move.

We came together at the end to read a maths- themed book before saying goodbye. The teachers laminated the games so the children could take home a souvenir.

We were delighted to see so many grown-ups join us for a fun afternoon of learning.

Year 3 Pensthorpe Trip

On Wednesday 5th July, Year 3 went on a trip to Pensthorpe Natural Park.

We went to learn more about fossils and nature as part of our summer term topic, Nature in Norfolk.

We had a session inside where we learnt about fossils. We found out how fossils are made and got to touch some real fossils and some copies of famous fossils.

After that, we went on a nature walk. We saw lots of different species of plants and birds and we really enjoyed feeding the ducks!

In the afternoon, we got to go on the amazing outdoor and indoor play parks.

We had a lovely time on our trip!
